Neuromorphic photonics, analog accelerators and inverse design.
Thomas van Vaerenbergh is a researcher at Hewlett Packard Labs, based in HPE Belgium. He received his PhD in photonics from Ghent University in 2014 for work on all-optical spiking neurons. His research spans analog photonic and electronic accelerators, optimisation and physics-informed machine learning for photonic device design, aligning with PHINDER’s neuromorphic photonics research.
